Free Emergent Reader for Catholic Schools Week

This Sunday is the kick-off for Catholic Schools Week and I have been busy preparing for this whirlwind of a week that my students enjoy so much. I created this Interactive Sight Word Reader, We Learn in a Catholic School especially for the occasion and it is yours to download for FREE!

I love using Interactive Sight Word Readers in the classroom because there are so many great processes involved. Students cut, glue, and unscramble letters to spell the word “in” on each page of the booklet. It provides much-needed fine motor practice while helping the children to master learning a new sight word. When each page of the book is completed, it becomes a perfect “just right” text for my students to read and is a great addition to their classroom book boxes.

My students love Interactive Sight Word Readers because they helped to create the book! The sense of ownership that my kindergarteners feel over these little books is incredible. The only thing better than that is the fact that this particular book helps to build their faith development in addition to their literacy skills.

  1. I love this book and all your interactive books. I would love to hear about what other schools around the country are doing for CSW. I am always looking for new ideas for our celebration.

  2. I was reallllllly wanting this Catholic Schools Week booklet, but when I try to download it does not work. Would you mind emailing me it?

  3. I got from you a reader that was We Learn in a Christian School. Is it still available? I lost my hard drive and no longer have it. Thank you for all the hard work you put in.

Hi, I'm Maria.

I’m a former kindergarten teacher turned work-from-home mom. I still love sharing ideas and resources to make teaching easier, so you can focus on what really matters in the classroom. When I’m not working on the blog, you’ll find me chasing kids around the house with a cold cup of coffee in my hand (some things never change even once you’re out of the classroom!)
