Can you believe it is already time to gear up for Back to School?
My denial days are over. I am in all-out classroom setup mode and my mind is racing with cute DIYs for the classroom. I’m sure yours is too and I am so happy to partner up with Michaels for their #Create2Educate sweepstakes! The moment I heard about this, I knew it was a perfect event for all of my Pinterest-addicted, DIY followers.

I made this cute chalkboard-inspired painted canvas creation for my own classroom and I love how it turned out! I promise to share all of the details for creating this project in a separate blog post very soon.

  1. I LOVE your canvas…I want one!! 🙂 I am working on a research proposal for a grad class on the effects of play in Kindergarten! 🙂 I whole-heartedly believe in the importance of play.

    1. Thanks Melissa! I often have to remind myself that play is important. So much emphasis is being placed on the standards, I find myself having to take deep breaths so I don’t push my little ones too hard each day.

  2. This is soooo adorable! And look at you go getting all into instagram!!! 🙂 I’m going to have to check this out and try and see if I can get those creative juices flowing in time! Thanks for sharing about this! I had no idea!

Hi, I'm Maria.

I’m a former kindergarten teacher turned work-from-home mom. I still love sharing ideas and resources to make teaching easier, so you can focus on what really matters in the classroom. When I’m not working on the blog, you’ll find me chasing kids around the house with a cold cup of coffee in my hand (some things never change even once you’re out of the classroom!)
