Happy World Teacher Day!

Ah, teaching… long hours in the classroom managing dozens of little people, followed by a few more hours of work at home- pinning, planning and paper checking. Then getting up the next morning and doing it all over again. And yet…I love it. And I know you do too otherwise you would not be in the profession and you DEFINITELY would not be stalking a teacher blog looking for new classroom ideas.

Yesterday, one of my very sweet kinder boys randomly walked up to me, gave me a hug and said Do you know why I love you? I gave the obvious response: Why do you love me? His answer of Because you’re my teacher melted my heart. And that about sums it all up. Especially in kindergarten. But even in the older grades too. If you love your job, your profession, and your students; they love you right back. Most of them don’t show it in quite such an obvious way, but the love, respect, and admiration are still there waiting for you each day when the students arrive at school. I get just as much out of my profession as I put into it, and I hope the same is true for you.

On another note, I had the great honor of guest blogging on the Pinterest blog today in celebration of World Teacher Day. Stop by the blog to learn the story of my Pinterest evolution, discover some great teacher-pinners to follow, and pick up a few tips for managing all of your pins and boards. Don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest as well!

A great big shout-out goes to my lovely and talented cousin April Todd of April Todd Photography for taking the beautiful classroom and profile photos.

Happy World Teacher Day to all of my teacher friends!
I hope you know how much you are treasured.

Hi, I'm Maria.

I’m a former kindergarten teacher turned work-from-home mom. I still love sharing ideas and resources to make teaching easier, so you can focus on what really matters in the classroom. When I’m not working on the blog, you’ll find me chasing kids around the house with a cold cup of coffee in my hand (some things never change even once you’re out of the classroom!)
