Description
This winter-themed sight word book is the perfect activity to get students reading and spelling sight words in a hands-on way during the winter months of December, January, and February. Each page of Winter is Here contains a predictable sentence missing the word “here.” Students will cut apart the letters to spell “here” (included), then unscramble and glue the letters into each page to correctly spell the sight word. Each page of the booklet also features pictures of woodland animals dressed in winter gear and ends with a cute snowman also declaring that winter has arrived. The cute pictures offer valuable scaffolding to help young readers read the book with success.
Your students will LOVE creating this emergent reader and will want to proudly want to read it all winter long. Interactive Sight Word Readers are a great, inexpensive way to build a personal reading library for each of your students.
Preparation is a breeze with Interactive Sight Word Readers. Each page in the book is formatted to print two-to-a-page for quick and easy collating. Simply copy the book, cut to separate, and place a staple in each half-sheet booklet. Copy the letter page separately and cut down the middle to provide each student with a strip of letters to fill in their sight word books.
