Number Word book – Interactive Emergent Reader

Description

Get students reading and ENGAGING with number words in a hands-on way with this counting emergent reader! Each page of My Number Book includes a predictable sentence about a given quantity of shapes. Students will cut apart the letters to spell each missing number word (included), mix the letters up, and then unscramble and glue the letters into a sentence to correctly spell each word. Each page of the booklet also has pictures with quantities that support the number word in the sentence (one star, two squares, etc.) which provides valuable scaffolding to help young learners read the book with confidence and success.

Your students will LOVE creating this number word book and will want to proudly read it again and again.

Preparation is a breeze. Each page in the book is formatted to print two-to-a-page for quick and easy collating. Simply copy the book, cut to separate, and place a staple in each half-sheet booklet. Copy the letter pages separately and cut down the middle to provide each student with a strip of letters to fill in their number word books.

Alternate Pages Included: Page 9 of the booklet says “I see nine diamonds.” Alternate pages are also included in the packet that say “I see nine rhombuses” and “I see nine rhombi” so you can select the vocabulary you prefer.
