Halloween is almost here and sometimes in the Halloween frenzy, a teacher just needs a few moments of sanity. My latest color by number page is just the ticket! This 8.5×11″ printed page separates into 2 smaller coloring pages. Students love the novelty of coloring on a 1/2 sheet of paper and I find that the quality of their work is much better than when I give the class a full-page coloring sheet. Plus, it’s a great opportunity for students to work on color word recognition. We just wrapped up our color word study last week but my kindergarten students still need lots of practice! Download a FREE copy of Trick of Treat Color by Number from my TpT store.
I also have a trick to share with you today! I love holiday celebrations, but as a half-day kindergarten teacher, every single minute in my classroom is precious! I always squeeze every bit of academics that I possibly can into our celebrations. One of my favorite tricks is to play Halloween BINGO. You can use any bingo game you already own and make it Halloween themed by using seasonal pieces to cover the board. I usually use Halloween foam shapes; but candy corn, popcorn, or Reese’s pieces work too!
If you need a BINGO game, I sell several different kinds of BINGO games for kindergarten classrooms in my TpT store!
