Thanksgiving Color by Number Turkey Freebie

Thanksgiving is nearly here! Your students can work on color words in a festive way with a seasonal color-by-number page. My kinders learned how to read and spell color words a few weeks ago, but we still review these words each day. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I created a cute Color By Number Turkey Page as extra practice for learning these oh-so-important words.

I love the idea of color by number pages, but I’m not so crazy about the idea of how LONG it takes to color an entire piece of paper. I’m also trying to keep a “green” awareness in my classroom and conserve paper use. This page was created with those classroom issues in mind.

Instead of the “traditional” coloring sheet that consumes a full sheet of paper (and an hour for for some students to color), this 8.5×11″ page separates to create 2 half-size coloring sheets. The words and pictures are still appropriately large for young students.

  1. OM! I can’t agree with you more! Thank you for the half sheet! It takes some of my Kinder Kiddos FOREVER to color a full sheet and some just 15 minutes (not the greatest work)! This is FANTASTIC!

Hi, I'm Maria.

I’m a former kindergarten teacher turned work-from-home mom. I still love sharing ideas and resources to make teaching easier, so you can focus on what really matters in the classroom. When I’m not working on the blog, you’ll find me chasing kids around the house with a cold cup of coffee in my hand (some things never change even once you’re out of the classroom!)
